Butterfly Card

Hello! Today I have a pretty Penny Black butterfly card to share. I wanted to create a last card before stepping down from the Simplicity Sisters Design Team. Here is what I made:

I started with a panel of white cardstock and stamped/heat-embossed the butterfly with white embossing powder. Then I applied various pink Distress Inks with an ink blending tool and added tiny droplets of ink from a brush. After it was dried, I cut around the bottom part of the butterfly and adhered this to a berry colored panel of cardstock with foam tape. I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment and adhered everything to the white card base. Finally I added clear droplets and sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Because it perfectly fits, I'll enter my card to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge A Bit of Sparkle.

I hope you like my last Penny Black card! Thanks for everything!

Your Next Stamp Release Blog Hop

Hi everybody and welcome to the YNS May Release Blog Hop! I am very honored to be a guest for Your Next Stamp this month!

The new release is so cute, you will love the adorable sets! I surely do.

So let's get to today's project. I used the set Phoebe and Pets (CYNS531) for this card. These images are so much fun, they make me smile big :) Because they look so happy, I thought they need a colorful background, so I chose to go with a rainbow. Here is what I came up with:

First, I made a card base from watercolor paper (because I like the texture), masked off stripes with masking tape and applied Distress Inks with an ink blending tool.
Now I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and die-cut everything with the matching dies. After I had adhered the girl and the critters with foam tape, I stamped the sentiment to the bottom stripe. Finally, I added matching sequins and Gumdrops.

Don't you love this set? I hope you like my sample! For more inspiration, be sure to hop to the other participants' blog, you will find a list at the end of the post. And be sure to leave a comment on as many blogs as possible for your chance to win a $25 YNS Gift Certificate! You'll have time until May 9th at 12 midnight (EST).
